Skincare Tips

We recommend washing your face twice daily, or after you’ve been sweating a lot. Overwashing can actually irritate your skin, which makes it produce more oil, which clogs up your pores...and can result in pimples. Don’t overdo it! Use a cleanser designed for acne-prone skin, like our Acne Range. If you wear makeup, make sure to remove all makeup residue. That’s usually enough to keep your skin clear and healthy, but if you still face breakouts, add a product that helps directly treat acne, e.g. OXY treatment creams with Benzoyl Peroxide that helps kill acne bacteria effectively. To address acne scars/dark spots left by pimples that have dried out, do apply OXY Anti-Pimple Mark gel to help lighten the blemishes.

Just like it says in the name, a toner tones your skin and preps it for the next steps of skincare. It also refines your pores and controls oil production for smooth, matte skin. OXY’s Acne Control Toner is further enriched with moisturizing aloe extract to restore hydration and contains oil-absorbing powder to eliminate shine while preventing future oil clogs.

Make sure your moisturizer is suited to your skin type: thicker, creamier moisturizers for dry skin, lighter gel or liquid moisturizers for oily skin, and hypoallergenic formulas for sensitive skin. A good moisturizer should apply easily, absorb quickly, and never feel heavy or greasy. Your skin should feel soft and comfortable afterward, and not feel dry for a while after. And of course, if a moisturizer causes your skin to sting, turn red, or break out, stop using it immediately.

Stop using that skincare immediately, and consult a doctor if the irritation is very serious. It’s a good idea to test skincare products on the inside of your wrist, under your jaw, or behind your ear to see if they cause irritation before they ever touch your face. If your skin is sensitive, look for products that are hypoallergenic, made with natural ingredients, and use as few ingredients as possible.
